Rudding Park | Hotel & Spa

If you ever want to escape from reality, to sit back, relax and recharge those batteries, I’ve got just the place for you.

Rudding Park Hotel is a privately owned luxury hotel, situated in the picturesque town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. With over 90 rooms, a private cinema, gym, spa, 2 restaurants and a golf course, they really do cater for everyones needs. Also, it doesn’t hurt that the hotel is absolutely beautiful! The decor is very mixed from modern, bright colour schemes to roaring country style fires. I love it!

Myself and my husband escaped here for our 1st wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it. The staff made our stay so special and helped us have an amazing anniversary to remember. So when my lovely auntie was due to celebrate her 50th birthday recently, myself and my sister decided to surprise her with a nights stay and access to the roof top spa. We also booked in for the Mud Rasul treatment as I have tried that before and its so much fun.

Once we checked into the hotel they treated us to a complimentary upgrade to a family suite which was so nice of them. We took lots of decorations with us and trimmed up the room as a surprise. As we were about to leave the room to go for lunch we had a knock at the door and the concierge brought us in a bottle of prosecco with glasses to celebrate. These kind of touches are what make Rudding Park stand out for me as one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. Nothing is too much trouble, they add little touches to your stay that make you feel so special and you are surrounded in absolute beautiful luxury whilst your there.

The spa is one of the best spa’s that I have ever been to. If you are a resident at the hotel, you can gain access to the spa by paying an upgrade of £35 which gives you access to the roof top spa facilities. If you chose not to upgrade you still have access to the beautiful pool, juniper log sauna and relaxation rooms. If you are a non resident and would like to just visit the spa for the day, you can pay £75 and have access to all spa facilities.

All around the spa there are water stations that have been infused with different ingredients to help keep you hydrated. They also have lots of yummy green apples too if your feeling peckish! You will find robes and slippers in your room that can be used in the spa but if your visiting for the day, you can pick these up at the spa reception along with your wrist bands and towels. To gain access to the different areas of the spa, you will need to tap your wrist band on the touch pads at the side of each door.

Once you reach the roof top you can really see that wow factor. The first outside door leads you to the jacuzzi, herb garden, numerous sun beds, outside shower area and also a wood sauna. The jacuzzi is absolutely gorgeous and we got to experience it during the day and at night. Theres just something about being outside in a jacuzzi, feeling all toasty and warm and looking up at the stars. Perfect!

The roof top spa has an array of different experiences for you to try. One of my favourites is the hydrotherapy infinity pool. With different water shoots and bubble experiences, they target problem areas such as the neck, shoulders and back. The pool is surrounded by beautiful trees and perfectly manicured lawns. Perfect for sunbathing in the summer months.

On the roof top you also have access to the luxury steam room, panoramic sauna, foot spas, relaxation room and the experience showers. Everywhere is extremely clean and there are enough beds for everyone no matter how busy the spa may get.

Whilst your in the spa you can order food and drinks to have in the spa area and also around the swimming pool. We ordered some refreshing fruit juices whilst we had some time to relax by the pool and they were very yummy.

Whilst we were there we treated our auntie to the mud rasul. This treatment is so much fun, very relaxing and leaves your skin silky smooth. The room in which the treatment takes place can accommodate up to 4 people. There are 3 different muds for each area of the body, the face and neck, shoulders and chest and the legs. Once the room is shut, the timer is set for you to apply the mud and take your seat ready for the aromatic steam to start filling the room and activating the mud. After around 20 minutes the room flashes red and the showers start. You also have hand held power showers to help remove the mud. Once you’ve removed all the mud, you have a beautifully scented exfoliant to use all over the body and hand held mitts that have been bathing in ice to rub all over your body. This invigorating treatment is a steal to residents at £15 per person and I would thoroughly recommend it!

When I came to the spa with my husband I also booked in for a Flow Wellbeing massage which was amazing. At £80 it is quite pricey but definitely worth every penny. As I have recently had a baby, I am quite conscious of my body but my therapist put me right at ease and I felt so relaxed afterwards. I would definitely recommend this treatment to anyone.

We made the most of our spa day and didn’t leave until around 8pm! Before we left though we ventured into the many relaxation rooms located on the ground floor of the spa. Each room is different, from a comfy room with projections of amazing landscapes to a blacked out room with the most comfy beds and stars in the sky. Each area is tailored to different peoples needs and you can definitely find your relaxation point down there.

Once we got back to the room we were greeted by 2 little lady bug, dotty massagers and a little bag of spooky chocolates from M&S as we stayed on Halloween night. Such a lovely touch and just added to the experience.

The next morning we went for our Yorkshire breakfast. You have the option to chose what you want for a cooked breakfast from a full English, eggs benedict or a vegetarian option, everything looks so yummy. You also have unlimited access to the continental breakfast area and trust me, the croissants are to die for!

Everything about our stay was incredible. The service, the spa, the food and the overall hotel is the epitome of luxury. One of my favourite hotels which is just on my doorstep but feels like you could be anywhere. With special offers on their website from time to time I would recommend checking this beautiful hotel out for your next relaxing stay. You will not be disappointed!
